Europlasma plasma torches are very efficient thermal tools, since efficiency can rise to 85% at nominal power; with air as the plasmagen gas.
- What kind of gas is used in a Europlasma plasma torch?
The gas is chosen depending on the thermal process to be achieved. All industrial Europlasma plasma torches currently work with air since it is the best suited to fly ashes and asbestos melting.
Europlasma torches have been tested with other gases and gas mixtures such as Ar, O2, CO, CO2, CH4, N2, H2. Europlasma has the specific know-how to adapt the torch to any gas.

- What is the electrode lifetime?
The electrode lifetime depends essentially on the plasma gas composition, the nature of the electrode material and the way to operate the process.
Obviously keeping the torch to its nominal power extends electrode lifetime.
The following table gives the recorded electrode lifetime for industrial torch operation. These lifetimes were obtained through feedback based on 1 million hours of torch operation.
