Industrial development of the plasma torch technology

Halfway through the 1980s, Aerospatiale (now EADS) engages in the industrial development of the plasma torch technology, which is used to simulate the very high temperatures to which spacecrafts and ballistic vectors are subject to when they enter the atmosphere.

A team of engineers understands the potential of the technology: plasma torch technology can be used to fully destroy toxic and residual waste.

Over the past 18 years, this passionate team has worked hard to master this advanced technology and find new applications to serve future generations.

On February 10, 1992, Europlasma is created by Didier Pineau (CEO) and Maxime Labrot (Member of the Scientific Committee) [To Governance]
2001-rachat-inertam

2001 :

Inertam
purchase

In order to finance its development and increase its visibility, Europlasma enters Free Market of Euronext Paris, raising €3 million. The same year, Europlasma acquires from EDF, an industrial facility which vitrifies asbestos waste through the application of the plasma torch technology: Inertam. [The facility is based in Morcenx in the Landes region (100% owned by Europlasma today).]

Europlasma takes majority control of Mulhouse-based Europe Environnement, a company specializing in air pollution control and the treatment of industrial gas. This acquisition expands the reach of Europlasma in clean technologies.

Private placement of €11 million from Credit Suisse providing the company the means to become a credible player on the market of for electricity production from waste and biomass through plasma gasification (CHO-Power concept).
