Europlasma R&D  Platform

Plasma technologies & processes

Europlasma’s R&D platform allows the bench testing of new plasma torches which can be powered by any mix of gases representative of those whom we meet in the industry but also to validate at a preindustrial scale the new processes developed by the company.

Situated in Morcenx France (Landes), near the site of Inertam and near the electricity from waste production unit of CHO-Power, the R&D platform was conceived to be easily reconfigurable and allow to test current and future Europlasma products.

Thus the R&D platform will welcome an experimental gasifier of a 1 ton / hour processing capacity which, coupled with Turboplasma ® developed within the ANR2009 program, will allow to validate the global performances of equipments developed for the WtE sector. The first trial campaigns will spread out over the year 2012. This pilot will also come in support of the construction and the starting up of the CHO-Power unit which will produce 12 MWe.

Furthermore, the platform will welcome in 2012 new equipments developed in the field of the vitrification of low radioactive waste (LLRW) for the nuclear power plant of KOSLODUY to make the reception tests with not radioactive representative samples.

The R&D platform is also a welcoming third companies in search of an industrial tests platform for the development of their own thermal processes or power production.

In particular new manufacturing processes of solar rank silicon by plasma fusion are under evaluation.
